The MTA has teamed up with NYC-based specialty sandwich shop Alidoro and the iconic Katz's Delicatessen for a special, limited edition offering: The 1904 Sandwich, a spin on the classic pastrami on rye.
The city's mass transit system is an essential and affordable key to unlocking exciting experiences in New York City, and The 1904 celebrates the system's anniversary. The first subway train departed City Hall station on October 27th, 1904, forever changing the way New Yorkers would navigate the city. Today, that system continues to connect New Yorkers and visitors alike to delightful experiences that are just a MetroCard swipe or an OMNY tap away.
WHAT'S ON THE SANDWICH?
A tantalizing combination of Katz’s deli pastrami, garlic confit cream, Calabrian pepper dijon slaw, and aged provolone, all on a fresh rye sourdough long roll.

WHY IS IT CALLED THE 1904?
The New York City subway opened on October 27th, 1904, and this take on a classic NYC sandwich is a celebration of the subway's anniversary.
WHAT IS THE SANDWICH WRAPPED IN?
Glad you asked. The sandwich comes wrapped in a specially-designed wrapper that features a take on the Vignelli subway map, and features the stops closest to where the sandwich is available.
