Due to expected heavy rain and planned track work, the October 7, 2023, Montauk Lighthouse Tour was POSTPONED. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We rescheduled this tour and hope you can join us on Saturday, October 28th. For those who have purchased tickets already, your current ticket is still valid for this new date. If you can’t attend on October 28th, your ticket is fully refundable at any LIRR ticket office.

For those who wish to buy new tickets for Saturday, October 28th, tickets will be available until Tuesday, October 10th only through ticket agents.

Take a trip to Montauk, the ultimate seaside community located at the tip of Long Island, without the stress of a long drive, traffic or planning your day. After your train pulls into the station, you will board a bus to “the End”, making stops at Montauk Village and the Montauk Point Lighthouse.

Take a breezy stroll through Montauk Village, where you’ll find snacks, any essentials you may need, and unique local gifts from boutiques, all just steps from the beach. 

The Montauk Point Lighthouse was the first lighthouse in New York State and is one of the oldest active lighthouses in the U.S. today. Climb to the top or stay at the ground level and explore the gift shop, museum, and surroundings in Montauk Point State Park. 

Then, head to the heart of the Hamptons, Sag Harbor, for a quaint escape. Explore all the sights this historically rich port has to offer; from beaches and nature preserves to museums, vintage shops, and fine dining.

The MTA Deal

$64.75 per adult ($47.25 per child ages 5-11). The tour includes round-trip rail and bus transportation, a visit to Montauk Village (on your own), admission to Montauk Point Lighthouse Museum, and a stop at Sag Harbor (on your own).

How to Get Your Tickets

Tickets may be purchased at Gray, Green or Blue Ticket Machines and ticket windows at LIRR stations*. Select "MTA Away Deals," then, "Escorted Tours," then the tour.

Multiple tickets/vouchers will print. Be sure to take all items dispensed and board the rear train car. This tour has limited space availability.

* Tickets will be available at ticket vending machines up to the Wednesday before the tour and available at ticket windows until the day of the tour.

Important Information

Please check for track assignments on the TrainTime App, digital signage, or information booth on the day of tour. Remember to board the rear car of the Montauk train at Jamaica. Tours are subject to cancellation, please check the webpage for up-to-date information or call us to confirm at (718) 558-7419. All train times, prices and dates may be subject to change. There is a transfer to a bus at Montauk station.
